During the midst of the hard times I face, I am able to have just enough faith and confidence that God will get me through it. My problems are as small as the grain of sand on the beach compared to God. How do I manage to smile? I wish I knew a simpler answer. I too get weak. I go through things you’d never imagine, but all of that gets casted as I give them to God. In exchange, I ask to be filled by Him as I die to my flesh.
I remind myself to not get weary of doing good for in due season I will reap if I don’t give up (Galatians 6:9). I also remind myself that His grace is sufficient for me. His power is made perfectly for weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9. These are just a few promises made by God. He has promised us so much and cradles me like the rock-a-bye baby rocking back and fourth on the treetop. As you wake up, God awaits to talk to You. Knowing He has given you another day is enough to be thankful for. We are warriors, don’t give the enemy a chance to dance around you. Let him know you are unbothered. I always say, “Away with you, satan.”
So as much as it hurts, I will rejoice. I will call out to Your name as I sit at Your feet. My healer, cover these wounds. I pray for comfort and enough strength to keep going. I thank You for all You have done for me, but this is when I need You the most. Not only when I am filled with joy, but when my eyes are filled with salt like tears; When my heart feels like the cracks on a sidewalk. I need You. I pray that You give this entire earth peace some day. I pray for those who are also hurting and that you will give them hope. Remind them You are nearest to those who are hurting. I love you in Jesus’ name.
2 Corinthians 1:3-7
God of All Comfort
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 6 If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. 7 Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.
In Your comfort I receive strength, hope, and encouragement. Thank You, Father. Because You comfort me, I am able to comfort others as well. Though You did not promise the weapons wouldn’t form against us, You did promise they won’t prosper. I will praise and call upon Your name even when it hurts.
