The Doctor That Heals.

“The church is not a museum for saints, but rather a hospital for the sinners.”

I visited Church by the Glades last Saturday because Anthony Evans was leading worship. It was a beautiful service!

A lot of times, people tend to turn away from those who sin. They point fingers at them instead of helping them. We all sin in some way and there are no perfect Christians. Now, I am not saying it is okay to sin nor do I promote it.

Are we forgetting that as brothers and sisters, we need to help those who fall? Instead of turning away from those who sin, correct them out of love and show them the example of the church! We are walking bibles for those who do not know Christ and for those who have lost hope. God isn’t impressed by how we treat those we love or other Christ followers. He is impressed by how we treat our enemies and those who do not follow Him!

Luke 6:32-36
“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”

We unite, not divide. As someone who has dealt with church hurt, I will tell you one thing. No human will ever separate me from Jesus! I come to church to serve God, I don’t come for people. Years ago, one of my old pastors kicked me and my family out because we were “Too good for his church.” I continued to go to church. Not his, but another. However, I never felt welcomed at that church. They hurt and convicted me one too many times because I was not a seventh day adventist. I can tell the story about how I found and became planted at my church home at Potential Church for about three years now! But that is a whole other story. Invite others to church, bible studies, and even out for coffee or lunch!

Jesus didn’t come to those who were already healed because they didn’t need them. He came to those who sinned and who are sick because they needed Him the most!

Last month, a young lady felt convicted by my page. I simply explained to her that I do not promote sin, I lead an example of who God is. I would love to talk more and share my testimony because it worries me when people assume I have it all together! My book is all a part of my testimony. I am not perfect at all and it took years of praying and tests to get to where I am today. What you see on the media is not all sunshine and rainbows. We all go through something, but with God, together we will get through it!

No, I am not perfect. In fact, God is still transforming me daily. The more I learn about Him and spend time in His word, the more I desire to be more like Him. I do not have it all together. I share my life on here. I share when I rise and when I fall. I am human and I never portray this “perfect” image that the world tries to illustrate. I need Jesus… we all need Jesus.

As someone who has battled with a lot, I am here to teach others who have gone through what I’ve been through to turn away from worldy desires. I am here to tell you that there is hope and power in not only prayer but in the name of Jesus!

Jesus heals. Jesus saves.

I spend so much time in church. I can’t hide that and I refuse to be idle. Jesus spits out a lukewarm Christian. This fire for Him will remain burning!

Revelation 3:16
So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of My mouth.

Those are His words. Why get angry, when He said this Himself?

I battle with Hashimotos Thyroiditis and thyroid disease. I haven’t spoken about my illness in a while. People ask me how am I doing? I respond with I am either not feeling well or I am feeling better than the day before.

I am aware that my body is weak. I am aware that this flesh is not my own. Spiritually, I am healed. I am aware that in heaven I will not be sick! So, why stress and worry about temporary things? I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t learn how to fight with prayer. Put on the armour of God (Ephesians 6)! He gives us the sufficient amount of strength to endure our hardships. The church is my hospital. Jesus is my doctor. There is hope. Never stop fighting. ❤
